On January 1, 2009 Ron & I flew from El Paso, Texas (after our Christmas celebration) to Oakland. We met Clare, Karen & Marilyn at the airport. We had such a fun vacation together eating good food and traveling together. We went to Kathryn Cornelison and Thomas's wedding in Oakland Temple on January 2. It was so foggy when we arrived at the temple, we couldn't even see it and didn't even know where to park. But it all cleared after the wedding and was a beautiful view of the city. We went to the visitor center to view an art display of the bronze statues by Angela Johnson. There were 13 exhibits of Christ and various teaching moments of Christ. I was able to take a picture of this one piece. I love her work and portrayal of Christ's face. This display will travel to different temples. The full size statue of Christ was in the clay stage at the Newport Beach Temple when we saw it at the open house. It is now finished and part of this exhibit.
We had a nice visit with Wendy and Brett and their family at the wedding. It was a nice vacation.

We had such a fun time in Mexico with our family for Christmas. Before we traveled down, we planned all the good things we wanted to cook and prepare for the holidays. Tristana, Jack & I had fun making the fudge. We had a turkey dinner, ham dinner, tacos, wassil, etc. We played Wii each working up their skills. Eliza is so cute and smiling every time we talk to her. It was a real relaxing holiday and we loved every minute. I love having THREE grandchildren.

PUGH FAMILY REUNION JULY 12, 2008

We had such a good reunion again at Duck Creek on top of Cedar Mountain. Although we did worry a few hours about my car. While driving up from Parowan, something blew and there was steam coming up from under the hood. We pulled over. Doug was driving Ron's car behind us. They lifted the hood, put out some flames, using all our bottles of water. After it was towed to Parowan on Thursday evening we were worried it was the whole ENGINE!! But the mechanic was able to fix it Friday !!! only the radiator! He got the parts and fixed it faster and probably cheaper than Utah County would have cost. Boy were we relieved.
We had fun at the reunion with games, races, eating, marshmellows, squirrels, nice cabins, visiting, eating, sharing stories. There was a big representation from Duff Pugh's family. DeRay fed us wonderful sour dough biscuits and pancakes with pear syrup. Clare had her two grandchildren up with the grand dogs too, so Jack was able to play with Jill. Jack & Tristana had fun with their aunts, uncles and cousins. It was fun sharing all the meals and tasting everyones receipes. Cari came down from Alaska, Brett up from California. Marilyn from Washington, Christy & Doug from Mexico. It was a wonderful gathering!! I especially had fun with the Pugh Family Bingo game with everyone trying to identify the photos I had printed of our ancestors! I think DeRay knew more than anyone.
I love this kind of bonding time and being able to share our lives with our family. I'm glad we're all a sealed eternal family!
