When I was tryig to set up my blog, I tried for the name of lovinglife. It told me it was not available., although I see it used on my page ... so go figure.
But I did decide on my site name of youcantellgrandma.
Maybe my posts will be grandma related, great grandma, great grandma, even present grandma.
Well, here I go. I think blogs are a wonderful idea. I want to be able to share my life and thoughts and learn more about all of you since we can't see each other often enough. We can still feel connected by communicating with our blogs. So this will be casual and imperfect, but fun.

Memorial weekend

Since we had an extra day for Memorial Day weekend, we decided to go visit Brad. And since I've never been to Lake Tahoe, I thought it would be nice to stay there. Brad steered us to a nice hotel and good food places to eat. Sometimes we were in Nevada and sometimes we were in California. We were snowed on each day and left in a real snow storm, but nothing was sticking on the ground. It was beautiful. I am impressed how big Lake Tahoe is. They really work on keeping the water clear and clean. On the sandy beach you really can see straight to the bottom with the clear water. It is a cute place with lots of cabins, condos, and small houses with cute little stores and shops. One the Nevada side there are Casinos and the California more hotels and restaurants. There were "Bear crossing" signs EVERYWHERE. Brad said he has seen a lot of bears up there. He has worked many weeks in Tahoe. One time while up high on a tall cabin, outside caulking, he dropped a granola bar paper to pick up later, and immediately there was a bear under him smelling the paper. He had to wait a while before he could come down. Anyway, we really relaxed, ate wonderful food, had a good visit with Brad, found a nice ward to attend on Sunday, and felt like we had a "break". I am going to try to add a photo now of Brad. I haven't been very successful in locating my photos in my computer lately since I got a new camera and they "go" somewhere I can't pull them out of. But I will try.
